7-Day Dog-Friendly NC 500 Campervan Itinerary


Day 1: Inverness to Black Isle

  • Start your journey in Inverness, exploring the city's pet-friendly parks like Whin Park and Bellfield Park.

  • Drive to the Black Isle and stay at the Rosemarkie Beach Campsite.

  • Take a leisurely stroll along Rosemarkie Beach and Chanonry Point, a popular spot for dolphin watching.

Day 2: Black Isle to Ullapool

  • Drive to Ullapool and settle in at the Broomfield Holiday Park.

  • Explore Ullapool Hill for a dog-friendly hike with stunning views of the town and Loch Broom.

  • Spend some time at Ullapool's pet-friendly beaches.

Day 3: Ullapool to Lochinver

  • Head to Lochinver and stay at the Achmelvich Beach Campsite.

  • Enjoy a scenic coastal walk at Achmelvich Beach.

  • Visit the Stoer Lighthouse and take in the beautiful landscape.

Day 4: Lochinver to Durness

  • Drive to Durness and camp at the Sango Sands Oasis Campsite.

  • Take your dog for a walk along Sango Bay Beach.

  • Visit Smoo Cave, a unique coastal cave system that allows dogs in certain areas.

Day 5: Durness to Tongue

  • Head to Tongue and stay at the Big Sands Campsite.

  • Explore Farr Beach for a peaceful walk by the sea.

  • If you're up for it, hike Ben Loyal – a challenging hike with stunning views (ensure the trail is dog-friendly).

Day 6: Tongue to Golspie

  • Drive to Golspie and settle in at the Brora Caravan Club Site.

  • Walk along Golspie Beach and enjoy the beautiful coastline.

  • Visit Dunrobin Castle's gardens, which are often dog-friendly (check in advance).

Day 7: Golspie to Inverness

  • On your way back to Inverness, stop at the Rogie Falls for a scenic walk.

  • Arrive back in Inverness and explore any pet-friendly attractions or parks you missed at the beginning of your trip.

Remember to always check local rules and regulations regarding dogs at beaches, trails, and attractions. Make sure to pack essentials for your dog, including water, food, waste bags, and any necessary medications.
